Hello retro heads, the news we have for you is something right out of left field. We’re always looking for original and unique retro news that most big sites over look or just don’t bother to bring to the forefront of their websites. Not HERE..! Gun Lord is a amazing brand new title. From what we’ve read and seen so far, it really makes this one of only a handful of new retro projects that we’ve seen being worked on by passionate retro innovators. Trust, Gun Lord will be in our archives…let’s have a look.
We must first apologize to our fans for not posting this information right away when it appeared in our inbox about three days ago. When great news like this arrives that get us all very excited, we like to read everything and view any and all images and videos before we begin to write anything up for our fans.
It’s the least we can do for both our readers and our hard working retro and indie game developers. We look at this release as important as the release of a new Modern Warfare title. This is HUGE news for us.
That being said, what we have for you today is just the (we hope) beginning. You can bet your ass that we’ll be doing a vidcast or two when we get it in-house.
Here’s a simple excert from the crew over at NG:DEV.Team:
“GunLord is a Eurostyle Platformer with emphasis on exploring huge worlds and blasting off enemies. This game features 8 stages of exciting 2D game play with over 45 unique enemy types. Blast yourself through giant landscapes, explore caverns and reveal all secrets!!”
There is a tremendous amount of original content to be had in Gun Lord. It’s truly a reincarnation of what makes games great. NG:DEV.TEAM has crammed a whole lot of fun into a small in a 624MB game with features that are listed below:
1) 8 Huge Stages
2) 16-bit Hand-drawn Graphics
3) Non-linear action with 8-way scrolling
4) Big Bad Boss Enemies
5) Constant 60 fps
6) Internet Ranking via Code
We bet your already excited as much as we are here at OSJ..! Some of the bullet points we love allot are the “Hand Drawn” graphics, little to no games are hand drawn anymore, it’s a dying art form. Everything these days are freaking cell shaded. It’s a cool tech for new games but “NOTHING” can match the animation or fluid movement of truly hand drawn graphics and animation. The non-linear openness of the game levels, classic exploration…love it.! Plus the rock solid 60fps is just the added bonus that’ll be perfect for all of our modern high definition televisions.
Let’s jump into the goods, but before we let you know about the platforms and release dates. We hope to like the great product images and game screens.
Artwork, Product and Game Screens:
